Science is Never Settled is a non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of Wyoming, whose purpose is to educate the public about how science is done, how science can improve public safety with respect to natural hazards, and how science is needed to illuminate public policy issues in an increasingly technological world. Our primary focus is on the causes and effects of climate change and other natural hazards. We seek to reach the public with the help of public relations organizations, via radio, television, print media, websites, social media, press releases, wire releases, and similar venues.
Trustees of this non-profit include Dr. Peter L. Ward, retired after 27 years with the United States Geological Survey, David B. Laing, retired Assistant Professor of Geology, University of Maine, and John B. Willott, retired Vice President of Worldwide Production Geoscience for Exxon Mobil. All three of us are convinced that thoughtful, scientifically rigorous, dispassionate discussion and debate is the best way to understand the science of global warming and other natural hazards so that we can adapt appropriately. All labor is volunteered. No salaries are paid.
Science is Never Settled has applied for 501(c)(3) status but approval is not anticipated until 2016.
